- Shoreham old station 2 closed in late 1940s and Southwick and Shoreham brigades amalgamated at Butts Road
- The brigade remained in this building up until just before WW2 and then moved to a building at the Boys Grammar School in Pond Road, Shoreham

- the building was improved and enlarged and alterations carried out with the enlargement to the building in 1920. Following the alterations the local Shoreham Urban District Fire Brigade moved into the building and remained at the Town Hall until the outbreak of WW2. The early brigade had a hose cart and wheeled escape ladder, also in its early history it had a horse drawn manual and this was kept in a lockup on the side of the Town Hall. In 1921 the brigade purchased a second hand motorised fire engine and this was housed at the Town Hall after alterations to house the vehicle were made. In 1929 the brigade purchased a new Dennis pump escape (reg- PO 5505) and yet again further alterations had to be made to accommodate this much larger vehicle in the premises, the previous motorised appliance was now stored in a lockup at the side of the Town Hall
